Verbatim is an American manufacturer of storage media, be it floppy disks, optical disks, magnetic tape or flash drives with memory cards.
Verbatim Floppy Disks The company was founded in 1969. Then it was called Information Terminals Corporation (ITC) and dealt with tape media. It was founded by one Reid Anderson, a physicist by training. Prior to that, he worked for the Electronic Research Project, leaving which he was initially engaged in computer terminals, later switching to storage media. Like any self-respecting Silicon Valley company, ITC started out in a garage. Success came along with Reid's own development - a special cassette, characterized by increased reliability of the mechanical components.
