Sparco SpA is an Italian company specializing in the production of components for cars (sports steering wheels, sports seats, wipers, etc ...). Also produces child seats, helmets, clothing for racers and mechanics. Headquarters in Turin, Italy. Sponsor of many races, including rally, Formula 1, and motorcycle racing. Sparco alloy wheels are manufactured by the Italian company OZ Group. It supplies components for the production of prestigious sports cars: Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz (AMG), Lamborgini, etc.
The history of the company dates back to 1977. It was founded by two professional racers - Enrico Glorioso and Antonio Parisi. The main focus of the company was the production of fireproof overalls for motorsport, which was a big problem during motor racing at the time. One of the creators was the son of a businessman involved in the supply of equipment for fire brigades. He knew about a material called Nomex - thus technologies that combined a non-combustible material and Italian design appeared in motorsport.
Before that, cotton overalls were mainly used in motorsport, and any fire could lead to very disastrous consequences for the rider.
